Salary and Benefits
Salaries for residents training at NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) are revised periodically and are competitive with similar northeast programs. Ample moonlighting opportunities are available.
NYP provides residents and fellows and their enrolled eligible dependents with:
- Medical insurance, vision, and dental plans
- Long-term disability and professional liability insurance
- Basic life insurance of $100,000
Additional options include spending accounts, legal and financial services, and a tax-sheltered annuity plan (408B). Dependent spending accounts and financial planning are also available.
Vacation time
Residents are given four weeks of paid vacation, taken in two-week blocks as a first-year resident, with the option of taking a combination of one-week blocks up to a single four-week block in subsequent years.
