Overview

Amichai J. Erdfarb, MD, is an associate professor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and chief of radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.

Dr. Erdfarb received his Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in biology and chemistry from Yeshiva University and was awarded his Doctor of Medicine with Honors from the Yale School of Medicine. He completed both his residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowship in neuroradiology at Montefiore Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology, including subspecialty certification in neuroradiology. Prior to joining the Columbia faculty, Dr Erdfarb served as the chief of radiology at the Montefiore Medical Center Wakefield Campus and director of quality and safety for the Montefiore Department of Radiology.

Dr. Erdfarb is experienced in all aspects of neuroimaging with a clinical focus on CT and MR cross-sectional imaging of the head, neck, and spine, including the diagnosis and evaluation of acute stroke, inflammatory diseases, infection, degenerative disease, cancer, and congenital disorders.

Dr. Erdfarb's research focuses on radiation dose monitoring and reduction, acute stroke imaging, quality and safety, process improvement, reducing patient and procedure errors, and dual-energy/spectral CT imaging. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at invited lectures.

Dr. Erdfarb is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the American College of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology, Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, and Radiological Society of North America. He most recently received the New York Roentgen Society Radiologist Service Award in recognition of his contributions to the field.
