New Radiology Facility Opens in White Plains, NY

Columbia Radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian The One

White Plains, NY – Westchester patients will have expanded access to Columbia’s diagnostic and interventional radiology expertise beginning today, with the opening of a state-of-the-art imaging center at NewYork-Presbyterian The One.

Located at ColumbiaDoctors’s new multidisciplinary care center at 1111 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, NY, the radiology facility offers the most advanced imaging technology available today, including the first photon-counting computed tomography (CT) scanner in Westchester County. Photon-counting CT is a new technology that provides more detailed images than traditional CT without any increase in scan time or radiation dose. The facility also features a comprehensive breast imaging center, three magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, positron emissions tomography (PET), ultrasound, and X-ray exams.

An interventional radiology suite on the fourth floor offers patient consultations and minimally invasive treatments for a wide range of conditions, including cancer, uterine fibroids, knee arthritis, benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), hemorrhoids, and many more. Image-guided interventional radiology treatments involve less recovery time than many traditional surgical procedures and can be performed in an outpatient setting.

"NewYork-Presbyterian The One is a state-of-the-art facility which brings together advanced imaging capabilities and multidisciplinary care, allowing us to provide world-class imaging services as part of a seamless, patient-centered approach," said Ajay Gupta, MD, MS, James Picker Professor of Radiology and chair of the Department of Radiology at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. "Columbia Radiology is proud to play an integral role in delivering high-quality care to patients at this innovative center, improving access and outcomes for the communities we serve."

All diagnostic imaging exams are evaluated within 24 hours by Columbia Radiology faculty, a renowned team of subspecialized radiologists who offer the highest level of diagnostic care and collaborate closely with referring physicians.

“Imaging is often the first step in a patient’s journey, and we understand how stressful the exams can be,” said Stuart Bentley-Hibbert, MD, PhD, associate professor of radiology and vice chair of regional imaging network for the department. “Our goal is to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible, with diagnostics and specialty care all in the same place.”

ColumbiaDoctors at NewYork-Presbyterian The One brings together ColumbiaDoctors providers from more than 90 adult and pediatric specialties to provide comprehensive, exceptional care in one location. The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services at 16 outpatient locations throughout Westchester County and Manhattan, in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
